We stayed in the guest house. John’s place was chosen for us because of the wheelchair accessiblity, which was as good as any place in the states. Even better when you consider the lay of the land, and our son’s ability to explore it all in his big power wheelchair. The property is amazing. Really, the photos and description here don’t come close to doing it justice. I can only complain that our vacation was so full of other places to see, that we didn’t really get to relax here. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, rich earthy colors, beautiful tile work, and stunning stained glass windows. The full bath was completely accessible, nice hot water in the big roll/walk in shower, and lots of room. Our electicity did go out a couple of times, which is to be expected in Costa Rica I hear.(pura vida;)But it was never off more than 20 minutes, no big deal. The kitchen was perfectly adequate, but we were treated to meals at the main house. John is quite the host and made us feel very much at home. He cuts up a mean fruit salad, and offered us a variety of cereals, also coffee, milk and juice. However the best meals were cooked up by Yessinia. Arguably, the best gallo pinto in the country. (I had it several other times, always good, never as good as hers).Breakfast our last day was served on the patio of the main house, gallo pinto, eggs, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The property is up in the mountains and the view is invigorating during the day and breathtaking at night, a panorama of ever twinkling lights of the city below. The cooler temperature in the evening is a welcome relief of the day’s heat almost everywhere else. And the slight chill was perfect for enjoying the hot tub on the patio of the guest house. I could go on and on. We would definitely stay again. Can’t think of one reason you shouldn’t visit! Thanks John, Ernesto, Angel and Yessinia
